Liard River Hotsprings

Wednesday we only traveled 104 miles, but they were 104 beautiful miles. We drove from Summit Lake to Liard River Hot Springs, stopping at The Toad River Lodge for a tasty breakfast. We paid two dollars for Internet and it was finally working as we were leaving, so I was able to upload the last blog and text my mom that I was alive, and then we were back on the road.

We had sun and blue skies as we made our way to Liard River, passing Stone Sheep, Wood Bison and a caribou. We camped at Liard River Hotsprings Provincial Park. From our campsite there was a path that led to the boardwalk that takes you through a wetlands area to the hot springs. We spent an hour or so soaking in the warm water and finally got thawed out. If you are driving the Alaska Highway, you don’t want to miss this. Word of caution: remove your jewelry. My silver toe ring is now a copper toe ring.
Walking back to our campsite we FINALLY achieved victory in our quest to see a moose!
She was huge and she was beautiful! We could head home now, but we will probably continue on and see what else we can find. Miles to the Alaska border: 709  Cracks in Leslie’s IPad screen: 1
