We took the Iron Mountain Road from our campground at Custer State Park to Mount Rushmore. The Iron Mountain Road is a 17 mile scenic road that was designed in the 1930's. It twists and turns and has very narrow tunnels which frame Mount Rushmore in the distance.
After checking out Mount Rushmore, we headed to the Crazy Horse Memorial which is amazing. It is still a work in progress and receives no Federal funding. In addition to the sculpture, there is a Native American Museum, cultural center, and we got to watch two Lakota Indians dance and dance a song with them.
Looks like you guys are having fun!
