Finally Arrived in South Dakota

We finally arrived in South Dakota!! Nothing against Indiana, Illinois, Iowa or Minnesota, but South Dakota was our first real destination. First Stop: The Porter Sculpture Park! Oh...no...wait... Closed for the season... If Marty Moose would have been there I would have punched him in the face...

So next up, on the recommendation of a dear friend, was the World's Only Corn Palace in Mitchell, SD. There really would be no need for the world to have more than one Corn Palace. Apparently my friend visited the Corn Palace before there were fun things to do. They claim that the Corn Palace attracts a half a million visitors each year, so it might be worth checking out if you ever find yourself in Mitchell, SD.

The Corn Palace isn't actually made entirely of corn, but the designs and murals which cover the whole building are made of corn. Every year there is a new design.

Other than that, so far in South Dakota we have seen tons of billboards and plenty of wind! Most of the long travel days are over for awhile, and we will spend some time here exploring South Dakota. (no Moose sightings yet)
